Andreas Gefe

Wooden sculptures by Cäsar Balmer

With two Comic Novels, various Short-Story Comics, Illustrations in Illustrious Magazines, Stage/ Set Designs and also CD-covers, the 35-year-old Swiss Andreas Gefe already has an extensive selection of works to his name. Fumetto will dedicate a workshop to him paying special attention to his new book "Mein Bruder Flo".

Whether it's with sketch paper, colourful boards in acrylic or sketched in orange and then worked over with pencil to form the preliminary stages of a comic: Gefe's "Kartons" are definitely some of the rarest comic and illustration materials around: it is really worth seeing the originals. The exhibition will be complemented by the addition of some of Cäsar Balmer's wooden sculptures.

The way in which his new work "Mein Bruder Flo" came about is of particular interest. The blue-grey-black toning of the panels really matches the melancholy feeling-atmosphere portrayed in the book. It is the perfect case of a symbiosis between author and drawer!
