THE MAGIC LANTERN

Once again the doors of the "Zauberlaterne" (Magic Lantern) will open in Lucerne in conjunction with Fumettino.
It is a special program consisting of both various animated films (cartoons) and an exhibition, allowing both parents and kids the chance to discover the film club, while at the same time giving them a closer look into the world of the "single-frame-technique" used in animated films.

The Special Presentation
This year's program will be opened with a very special film:
"Eine kleine Animationslektion" by Frédéric and Samuel Guillaume: an interactive trick film which enables us, the viewers, an insight into the making of animated films.

The Exhibition
The animated film directors Samuel and Frédéric Guillaume from Fribourg have filmed a movie-spot especially for the 2002 Magic Lantern.
Based on the graphic artist Noyau's drawings, the figures were created in 3-D and animated using the "single-frame-technique".
One blink of your eye and the 40 witty seconds are over…
but the months required for the conception and realisation of such a short film are rarely seen. Hence this exhibition; a look behind the curtains so to speak!
