The Chronicle of Daily Life

Ben Katchor tells stories from daily life, but nothing everyday-like. His tales take place in New York, his home and muse. Katchor doesn’t go looking for answers to the meaning of life, he’s actually more interested in the little, unusual things. His strips lead the reader into a world he claims to know, but not from this perspective. The dialogues seem familiar to him but not the context. It‘s really only a slight adjustment of the camera angle but as a result the reader finds themselves in a completely different universe, forcing one to rethink/ reflect. Included in the Fumetto exhibition is an exclusive cross-section of rarely shown originals. And on top of that Katchor’s diversity will also be brought to light, apart form drawing comic-strips he also writes musicals and radio plays.
