Brecht Evens (BE)

Here and now

 

The Belgian Brecht Evens tells of the wish to be loved and the feeling of being part of things in his book. He not only presents the content and style of this classic theme, self-confidence and insecurity in young people, rather refreshing but also well-considered. Through his watercolour paintings (without ink outlines) he figuratively does away with boundaries and in doing so stylishly accentuates the main theme of the book. Evens kidnaps the reader and his figures accordingly too, always in magnificent places over and over again, transposing them into expressive, boldly coloured pictures. Fumetto will present the 23 year old Flemings first ever individual exhibition.
